We are excited to announce Heritage Mobilities in an Age of Artificial Intelligence as the upcoming 2nd International Conference on Complicated Histories and Complex Heritages (ICCAHS) theme. The conference aims to explore the dynamic intersection of heritage studies, mobility, and artificial intelligence (AI). It seeks to bring together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss the implications of AI on the preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of cultural heritage in a rapidly evolving world. Additionally, this conference aims to comprehensively examine the dynamic nature of heritage across cultural, geopolitical, sociological, and economic dimensions, elucidating how traditions, practices, and artifacts are influenced and transformed by various factors, including conflicts, migration, technological advancements, globalization, policy changes, and innovations to shape various forms of heritages and meaning forms.
Viewed as heritage in motion, the conference will focus on bridging existing gaps related to identity, memory, and cultural narratives within the context of global realities, especially inventions/innovations around artificial intelligence as well as the continuance and sustainability of life with regards global peace and insecurity. ICCAHS 2025 will center attention on the dynamic and evolving nature of heritage, and how identity, memory, and cultural narratives are interwoven across different regions, disciplines, and global borders.
